Start Now: If you are young,
it's time to start. The sooner you start caring for your skin
the more your skin
will
retain
a healthy, youthful appearance in the future. But, it is never
too late to start caring for your skin.
The 3 S's: The three worst
things for skin are sun, soap and smoking. In addition to avoiding
those things, you should keep
your
skin properly moisturized. If you avoid these few things
and moisturize, your skin will look better, longer. The 3 minute rule: After bathing,
showering or cleansing, apply a moisturizer like Original Facial
Revitalizer or Original Body Conditioner.
You can
use petroleum
jelly. Just use something within 3 minutes of getting out of
the shower or bath to help prevent the moisture from evaporating
from
you skin.
Hydrate from the inside out: Drink
water all day long. This is the simplest, most natural and inexpensive
thing you can do for your skin and body. |

Essential oils have been
used by humans for thousands of years. Interestingly, what is
believed to be ancient herbal
distillation equipment was identified in a museum in Taxila,
Pakistan and
has been dated
back to 3000 BC. Essential oils are derived from botanical sources.
They are usually created by a process called steam
distillation where steam is infused into a chamber with the plant
material (biomass) inside. The steam is then condensed and the
water separated from the essential oil. Essential oils are
distilled from select parts such
as leaves, petals, bark, wood chips, or fruit rinds. Other methods
of extraction
include solvent extraction, cold pressing
and CO2
extraction.
The essential oils contain the chemicals from the plant material
they are extracted from, but in a much
higher concentration. Each essential oil contains dozens component
chemicals.

Most commercially available essential oils are
too concentrated to use undiluted on your skin (neat application).
They would irritate the skin, and, in many cases, the aroma would
be overpowering. We balance the essential oils with
carrier oils. The carrier oils we choose provide additional benefits
for skin.
Essential oils applied to the skin are absorbed
and carrier oils, such as grape seed and jojoba, assist in absorption.
Vegetable oils, such as evening primrose, avocado, hazelnut,
macadamia nut, apricot, borage, and sweet almond oil provide
vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids (EFA) and occlusive
moisturizing action. Wheat germ oil is high in vitamin E (tocopherol
and tocotrienol) and acts as a natural preservative. We do not
use chemical preservatives or additives.
In the past decade, essential oils have been showing
up in almost every personal care product. However, essential
oils, which are very expensive ingredients, are typically added
to existing base products in very low concentrations and relabeled
as being "herbal", "essential", "botanical", "natural", "aromatherapy", "therapeutic",
or promoting one or two well known extracts such as lavender,
chamomile or tea tree. Sometimes other companies use extracts
that are not from the recognized, essential oil producing species
but are of the same family as the species that true essential
oils are extracted. Sometimes they use "fortified" essential
oils which have been adulterated by boosting one component chemical
in the oil. This is probably done due to the expense of real
essential oils
and
at
the expense
of the
consumer.
Our Ingredients...
their ingredients...
The
essential oil ingredients we use have a variety of beneficial
properties for skin care. However, some have a very strong aroma.
We balance the aromas with other aromatic essential oils that
are chosen for their additional skin care benefits. Finally,
we add carrier oils which provide more skin care benefits and
reduce the concentration of essential oils to levels that will
allow
for safe, daily applications. In our "Ultra" formulas,
we use more vegetable oils to reduce the absorption rate, provide
more
occlusive
moisturizing
and add even more vitamins and minerals. Our
