What is it? / Why is it better than what I'm currently using?

If you are not using Green Leaf Essentials™, what you have can probably be characterized as bottles of cheap chemicals. The prices you paid for them has nothing to do with the chemicals inside but rather their marketing glitz.

Today, it seems every cosmetics and skin care products manufacturer claims to have essential oils or some sort of botanical ingredients. Typically they use less expensive and less effective substitutes extracted from more common species of plants or industrial grade, fortified essential oils at ineffective concentrations. They enhance existing product labels with a couple of botanical ingredients but continue to use dozens of inexpensive chemicals, artificial coloring and preservatives.

Green Leaf Essentials™ skin care products combine the highest quality, pure, 100% natural essential oils from the USA and USA friendly countries all around the world, with no added chemicals, artificial preservatives or coloring. This is what sets Green Leaf Essentials™ products apart from all other products. All the ingredients we use are carefully chosen and blended to work together, improving the appearance, providing a moisture barrier, conditioning, visibly smoothing the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and improving the look of prematurely aging and sun damaged skin. Green Leaf Essentials™ skin care works on all skin types and is mild enough for use on sensitive or irritated skin. Our products moisturize, tone, condition and visibly smooth the skin. Green Leaf Essentials™ skin care products improves all skin types.

If you are already familiar with essential oils: We use several essential oils to address the same skin appearance problem. This synergistic approach is why our products are more effective. Our products contain two to five times more kinds of essential oils than typical products. However, we balance the concentrations so they can be used daily, even on sensitive or irritated skin.

 

Skin care for men?

What is nice about Green Leaf Essentials™ products is that they are not gender specific. They are clear oils that add no color (make up) to your skin.

  • Hands, Elbows and Feet Conditioner is very popular with men.
  • Dry Skin Conditioner is for men with extra dry sensitive facial skin. It is an excellent aftershave conditioner that does not cause irritation or burning that alcohol based products do.
  • Original Body Conditioner is an excellent all-purpose deodorizing body conditioner that does not cause drying irritation or burning.
  • Ultra Body Conditioner is for men with dryer skin. It also makes an excellent all purpose body conditioner with more emollients with more Pink Grapefruit oil for a fresh scent.
 

How and why should I perform a patch test?

The U. S. FDA reported: "Nearly one-quarter of the people questioned in FDA's 1994 cosmetics survey responded "yes" to having suffered an allergic reaction to personal care products, including moisturizers, foundations, and eye shadows."

Somebody is always allergic to something. Some people may be sensitive to an ingredient in our products even though we took care to help insure our products will work for the widest population. All of our ingredients are derived from botanical sources, some of which are common food items. If you have a food allergy and our ingredients are from the same plant, you will probably get a reaction.

To be sure you are not sensitive to one of our ingredients, you must perform a patch test. Simply put one drop or less on your forearm and monitor that area for 24 hours. In the unlikely event that irritation or adverse effects occur, do not use that product and return it for a refund.

If, after 24 hours, you do not have any reaction then you can be sure it is safe to use on you. However, you should still discontinue use immediately if you develop any irritation in the future from continued use.

 

Are your products "hypoallergenic"?

The term hypoallergenic has many different meanings. Here is what the U. S. FDA has on the subject: Hypoallergenic Cosmetics

We take care to research our ingredients and we choose them based on their suitability for everyday use on the widest population possible. We select ingredients with the objective of producing an effective finished product with the minimum potential for causing allergic reactions. This does not guarantee that the product will not cause an allergic reaction in some individuals as people are allergic to a wide array of substances.

 

Are your products "alcohol free"?

Yes. Wait. No. Actually, it depends on what you mean. "Alcohol free" has a very specific meaning in cosmetic labeling. Here is what the U. S. FDA has on the subject: Alcohol Free

We do not add any type of alcohol to any of our current products. However, some of the component chemicals in essential oils are from the alcohol family of chemicals. These alcohols do not dry the skin nor, in our products, do they produce a burning sensation like ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol can.

 

15 ml? How long will that last?

For an example, let us suppose that you are referring to Original Facial Revitalizer, 15 ml and you have an oily complexion. One application per day would be recommended for you. That little 1/2 oz. bottle has about 450 drops. If you use an average of 4 drops per application, once per day, you will want to reorder before 112 days which is about 16 weeks! Your actual usage will vary.

Applications of the body conditioner products require more drops to cover presumably larger areas. Your actual usage will vary.

 

How should I care for my Green Leaf Essentials™ products?

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Our products are for external use only and must not be taken internally by anyone including children. Our products are not diluted enough to use on children under 12 on a daily basis.

Keep the plastic dropper top in the bottle. If a child did find a bottle, the restricted flow may help minimize the amount they get out.

 

The expiration date has past. Can I still use it?

No. Discard the remaining amount and reorder a fresh, full strength product but in a smaller bottle this time.

As your product ages, you will notice that it will become less aromatic. When the oils are too old they will smell stale. Apply it to your palm and smell it to make sure you are smelling the actual product and not any dried product left on the bottle threads. As you use your product, the amount of air in the bottle will increase. This will accelerate the expiration process. If your product goes stale before the expiration date, you can return it for a free, fresh replacement.

 

Are your ingredients aromatherapy or therapeutic grade?

Yes. You deserve the best.

Technically, there are no "aromatherapy grade" or "therapeutic grade" standards. We use the best ingredients just like aromatherapists do.

 

How do I apply it?

Generally, you apply Green Leaf Essentials™ products when your skin needs it most, such as, immediately after sunning, tanning, swimming bathing, showering, cleansing your face or washing your hands. Also apply them when your skin will have the most time to absorb the essential oils such as in the morning or just before bedtime.

Application frequency will also depend on your skin type. Each product has different usage recommendations for each skin type. Typically you apply them once or twice daily.

To apply a very light amout you can apply it to wet skin. This will help the products spread more easily.

What's the difference between Original Facial Revitalizer and Ultra Facial Revitalizer?

Original Facial Revitalizer can be used on all skin types. Your skin type dictates how and when you apply the Original Facial Revitalizer for best results. The carrier oils absorb more readily.

Ultra Facial Revitalizer is for Normal to Dry, skin types. Ultra Facial Revitalizer absorbs slower so it provides a moisture barrier for a longer period to help keep skin hydrated. It has more essential oils further enhancing skin's appearance, minimizing fine lines, tightening, refining and softening the skin's appearance. Ultra Facial Revitalizer has additional emollients and nutrients from additional carrier oils and essential oils. This moisturizes better, softens the more visible pronounced facial lines, and improves the look of prematurely aged skin.

Does Original Facial Revitalizer and Ultra Facial Revitalizer reduce wrinkles?

Yes. With regular use, Original Facial Revitalizer and Ultra Facial Revitalizer will minimize and soften fine lines and winkles.

Try a Green Leaf Essentials™ facial revitalizer every day for 6 weeks. If you do not notice a reduction in wrinkles or lines you can return the unused portion for a full refund.

If you would like to be scientific about it, take a close up photograph before and after 6 weeks so you know it's working. Send us the results we would love to see them.

 

Why does it smell slightly differently from last time I ordered it?

One possibility is that you are comparing the aroma of the old bottle to the new one. The ingredients in the new bottle are fresher and more aromatic. If the bottle smells bad, stale or has significantly lost it's aroma then it is expired. Do not use it. See 15 ml! How long will that last? or The expiration date has past. We are always looking for the freshest ingredients from different sources and different parts of the world. There variations in the essential oils are based on the extraction methods used or different parts of the world where the plants were harvested. Occasionally, sources of essential oils are interrupted by social strife, wars, political embargoes or crop failures.

The plants that essential oils are extracted from are subject to seasonal growing variations just like grape growing seasons affect the outcome of wine. The extraction methods are also subject to slight variations. For example, steam distillation temperatures may be varied producing variations in the essential oils.

We do not alter the essential oil concentrations to attempt to maintain the exact same aroma. If it becomes necessary to adjust our formulas due to ingredient availability, we will label it as a new product or new formulation.

 

Do your products stain clothing?

No. You can apply our products to your skin then dress immediately. There will not be enough product transferred from your skin to your clothing to cause discoloration.

However, if you spill the products that have a deeper golden color directly on light colored material, it can produce a pale yellow stain.

 

I can't shake it out fast enough. How do I get it out of the #$!@#% bottle?

Each bottle has an integrated dropper top to minimize spills, and to allow you to dispense a controlled amount without getting any product on the bottle threads.

There is no need to shake it out. Simply invert the bottle and relax. In a few seconds, your Green Leaf Essentials™ product will start dripping out the center tube. You can drip it directly onto you or into your palm. You can place some on your finger tip, then apply it.

What is causing my product smell stale before the expiration date has passed?

There are two things that can cause this:

1. The integrated dropper top has a hole in the outer rim to let air into the bottle as the product drips out. If something splashed or dripped into the dropper top, it will get into the product. This may reduce the shelf life and cause the product to look cloudy.

2. However, a more likely problem, is that some product got on the treads of the bottle and cap. See How should I care for my Green Leaf Essentials™ products? There, it built up and dried into a stale, sticky mess. That's what you are smelling, not the product inside the bottle. The product in the bottle is probably still good and you can continue to use it. You can verify this by spreading a drop in your palm to verify that it still smells good.

How do I return the product for a refund?

Within 60 days of your purchase, send us an e-mail to . Include your name, address and phone number and your order number if you have it. In the e-mail explain what you want to return and why. Please know that no matter what you reason you give for the return, you will get a refund. We would appreciate an honest reason so we can improve our products and service with your feedback. Are your blue glass bottles recyclable?

Yes. Most communities specify that you should sort the blue glass with the green or mixed glass. Some communities don't recycle blue glass. Contact your local recycling company, service or local government to determine how to recycle blue glass in your neighborhood.
